Foot Locker is a leading athletic footwear and apparel retailer, and they are seeking an HR Generalist to serve as a frontline partner for HR support. This role involves executing core HR programs, managing HR responsibilities independently, and supporting the EAST region with various HR initiatives and teammate lifecycle processes.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as additional point of contact for Teammate and manager HR inquiries
- Provide clear guidance on HR policies, procedures, and programs
- Exercise discretion and judgment in resolving issues independently or escalating appropriately
- Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
- Conduct regular store visits to assess culture, engagement and leadership effectiveness while identifying trends to drive the business
- Execute the operational cadence of performance management processes
- Track reviews, improvement plans, and documentation requirements
- Coordinate logistics for calibration sessions and performance discussions
- Partner with HR leadership to ensure consistency and policy alignment
- Conduct regular store visits to assess culture, engagement and leadership effectiveness to drive the business
- Own day-to-day HRIS data updates, audits, and record accuracy
- Maintain Teammate lifecycle transactions including onboarding, transfers, and exits
- Prepare routine HR reports including headcount, turnover, and demographic data
- Ensure data integrity and readiness
- Partner with HR Managers on investigations
- Recommends preventative actions, training, or policy clarifications based on identified trends
- Apply HR policies consistently and flag potential gaps
- Maintain working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
- Support recruiting and talent planning activities including job descriptions and requisitions
- Assist with workforce planning data, and reporting
- Support HR initiatives and cross-functional projects
- Track action items and follow through to completion
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- 2-4 years of progressive HR experience (Generalist or Coordinator level)
- Working knowledge of HRIS systems (Peoplesoft), PowerBI, UKG and Microsoft Office
- Understanding of employment law and HR fundamentals
- HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus
