The Intersect Group is seeking a Cisco Voice Engineer to lead solution engineering efforts for project-based initiatives. The role involves designing, deploying, and maintaining Cisco voice environments, providing user training, and ensuring optimal performance and reliability of voice systems.
Responsibilities:
- Lead solution engineering efforts for project-based initiatives, delivering well-defined and properly scoped Cisco voice environment implementations aligned with project objectives
- Design, deploy, and maintain Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Unity Connection, and related voice applications
- Configure and support Cisco IP telephony devices, including phones, gateways, and voice routers
- Provide end-user training and ongoing support for voice systems and devices
- Monitor voice network performance and implement improvements to optimize reliability and efficiency
- Perform regular system upgrades, patching, and backups to ensure performance, stability, and security
- Troubleshoot and resolve voice-related issues, including call quality problems and system outages
- Collaborate with network, security, and systems teams to ensure seamless integration of voice and data networks
- Document configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures to support internal knowledge sharing
Requirements:
- Strong experience with Cisco Voice solutions in medium to large enterprise environments (3+ years)
- Hands-on expertise with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Unity Connection, and Cisco voice gateways
- Solid understanding of LAN/WAN networking fundamentals as they relate to voice systems
- Proficiency in troubleshooting voice networks, including QoS, dial plans, and call routing
- Experience working with VoIP protocols such as SIP, H.323, and MGCP
- Experience defining project scope, planning, and execution
- Cisco certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or similar
- Previous experience working within a Managed Services Provider (MSP) environment
