Step Up For Students is dedicated to empowering families to pursue and engage in appropriate learning options for their children. The UX Designer will create and optimize user experiences, working with stakeholders to ensure products are intuitive and align with best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct user research to understand user needs, behaviors, and pain points
- Develop and maintain user journey maps, personas, wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes to guide decisions
- Conduct usability tests to evaluate the effectiveness of designs and identify opportunities for improvement
- Analyze user data and insights to inform design decisions
- Develop design strategies and plans based on user research and business goals
- Establish feedback loops to collect and act on user feedback iteratively
- Design and refine intuitive user flows, wireframes, mockups, and high-fidelity prototypes for web-based software
- Build and maintain design systems to ensure consistency across all products
- Work closely with product managers, engineers, and architects to integrate UX best practices into development cycles
- Advocate for user-centered design, accessibility, and usability across the organization
- Partner with product, engineering, support teams, as well as internal and external stakeholders to align UX strategies with business and technical requirements
- Lead UX workshops and training sessions to foster a culture of user empathy and design thinking
- Support the development of training materials by providing interactive prototypes before go-live
Requirements:
- Demonstrated success and a proven track record of professional/life experience in specific job functions, projects, industries or military service can substitute for professional experience and/or formal education requirements
- 5+ years of UX design experience, preferably in SaaS or enterprise software
- UI/UX certifications
- Experience with usability testing, survey development, competitor analysis, and focus groups
- Strong understanding of user research methodologies, UX/UI best practices, and accessibility standards
- Experience working within Agile/Sprint cadences
- Expertise in standard user research tools like Google Analytics and Survey Monkey
- Familiarity with product tour tools, such as Userflow
- Strong proficiency in Figma
- Experience with Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar tools is a plus
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Understanding of front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus
