Job Title: MS SQL Server Database Administrator

Location: Salt Lake City, UT (Hybrid)

Pay Rate: $42.55 /hr

Job/Role Description:

This role provides primary DBA responsibilities, including support for various application development teams through advising on design, implementing solutions, and optimizing databases for the applications.
This position serves as the MS SQL Server expert for the organization.
This role involves evaluating and adopting new features in the latest releases of MS SQL Server.
Work closely with engineers across all business units to design, develop, and optimize databases for diverse application workloads.
Provide support for database (RDBMS) standardization programs from design through development and implementation.
Perform installation, configuration, upgrade, and maintenance of the DBMS environment.
Design and implement database security controls to safeguard organizational data.
Provide production support, capacity planning, and contribute to building the global database infrastructure.
Manage various OS and database-specific upgrades in Windows and Linux environments.
Build self-service and automation tools using scripts/programs (e.g., PowerShell) to reduce manual efforts and enable low-touch offerings.
Collaborate closely with Microsoft Engineering and Product support teams to provide feedback and new feature requirements based on the organization s development needs.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or another Engineering field and 5+ years of experience in a related role
Strong experience with database design, replication, stored procedures, SQL performance tuning, and all aspects of high-value database support for applications
Experience with relational database development, troubleshooting, and design for highly concurrent applications
Ability to partner effectively with application developers, negotiate solutions, and confidently influence and promote standardized database best practices
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to understand complex issues and devise specific database solutions for global applications
Experience working in Windows and Linux server environments
Strong scripting skills, preferably with PowerShell or similar tools
