NEI Electric Power Engineering, Inc. is an engineering services firm dedicated to serving others and improving continuously. They are seeking an Entry-level Electrical Engineer in the Data Center group to perform engineering design and analysis, supporting client projects and ensuring quality deliverables within budget and time constraints.
Responsibilities:
- Performs detailed design on all aspects of substation electrical power systems to include one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, control and relaying schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, grounding design, general arrangement, selection of equipment, writing of equipment specifications, project and construction cost estimates, and project scheduling
- Prepares computer-based models and perform power system studies on utility and industrial/commercial electrical power transmission and distribution systems, including short circuit, load flow, relay coordination, arc flash, power factor, harmonic analysis, and other related studies. Employee should create simple hand checks to quantify the computer aided results
- Develops protective relay settings
- Prepares a variety of documents and reports associated with projects including cost estimates, budget reports, proposals, and studies
- Provides field assistance and troubleshooting
- Checks the work of designers, drafters, and field service personnel for general quality and accuracy as required
- Understands the applications of relevant Codes and Standards
- Assists with client contacts and communication pertaining to specific assignments and meetings
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution, electric power option preferred
- 1 – 5 years of relevant engineering or field experience
- FE, PE is a plus, but not required
- Knowledge and familiarity with substation electrical design
- Possesses effective written and oral communications skills
- Good interpersonal and people skills
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
- Experience with AutoCAD is a plus
