Senior Data Platform Engineer

Harnham is building AI-powered technology for modern living communities, and they are seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer to design, build, and scale their foundational data platform. This role involves shaping the architecture and reliability of a modern data platform while collaborating with various teams to optimize performance and cost.

Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain scalable data pipelines and platform components
• Optimize performance and cost across the data stack
• Collaborate with ML, analytics, and product teams
• Troubleshoot reliability and performance issues
• Improve observability, data quality, and platform standards
• Assess platform bottlenecks and scalability gaps
• Improve ingestion reliability and resilience
• Implement data quality frameworks
• Strengthen governance and access controls
• Define and execute a multi-year data platform roadmap
• Enable scalable ML/AI data workflows
• Build self-service analytics capabilities
• Create a best-in-class internal developer experience

Requirements:

• Strong hands-on experience with Databricks
• Deep knowledge of modern lakehouse / data warehouse architectures
• Proven experience building data platforms on AWS
• Expertise in large-scale pipeline architecture
• Solid understanding of governance, RBAC, and data lineage
• Strong Python and SQL skills
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration
• Experience with Kafka or Kinesis
• Background in startups or high-growth environments
• Healthtech or regulated industry experience
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code)
