Cyber Security Engineer

LHH is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer to support a financial services client on a remote contract engagement. The role focuses on securely re-enabling the ShareFile Outlook Plug-In within a Microsoft 365 environment, requiring expertise in Data Loss Prevention and the Check Point ecosystem.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the secure deployment and configuration of the ShareFile Outlook Plug‑In, ensuring strong DLP controls and minimal data exposure risk
• Design, implement, and validate DLP strategies across email, endpoints, and network gateways
• Analyze, document, and assess required API endpoints and IP whitelisting, minimizing footprint and recommending compensating controls where needed
• Configure and manage Check Point Smart‑1 (R82) security gateways, including access policies, HTTPS inspection, and logging
• Administer Check Point Endpoint Security (E88.x / E88.62) aligned with endpoint-based DLP objectives
• Assess risks related to email attachments, cloud file sharing, and external recipients across Outlook (New, Classic, OWA)
• Develop security documentation, risk assessments, and validation test plans
• Partner closely with IT, Security, Compliance, and Messaging teams to deliver a secure and supportable solution

Requirements:

• 5+ years of enterprise cybersecurity engineering experience
• Strong hands-on expertise with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) technologies and principles
• Deep experience with the Check Point ecosystem, including Smart‑1 / Security Gateways (R82) and Endpoint Security (E88.x)
• Solid understanding of Microsoft 365 email and messaging architecture
• Experience with ShareFile or similar file-sharing platforms (training can be reimbursed if needed)
• Ability to work effectively in regulated, compliance‑driven environments (Financial Services preferred; Insurance, Healthcare, Defense, or Capital Markets also relevant)
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and stakeholder collaboration skills
