Data Reliability Engineer

GSD Search is supporting a client in the insurance space seeking a Data Reliability Engineer to join their data platform team. This role focuses on ensuring data systems are stable, scalable, and production-ready, working closely with engineering, data, and business stakeholders to improve system performance and data quality.

Responsibilities:

• Data Platform Reliability
• Design and implement reliability practices across the data ecosystem
• Improve uptime, performance, and stability of data platforms and pipelines
• Monitoring & Automation
• Build and enhance monitoring solutions for data pipelines, ML workloads, and system health
• Automate processes to reduce manual intervention and improve response times
• Data Quality & Integrity
• Implement scalable data quality checks and validation frameworks
• Ensure consistency and accuracy across data systems
• ML & Data Workload Support
• Support deployment and monitoring of machine learning models and data workloads
• Help ensure performance, scalability, and reliability of AI/ML systems
• Infrastructure & Pipeline Management
• Contribute to infrastructure and pipeline development using modern tooling
• Support scalable, maintainable data architecture
• Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Act as a key partner across engineering and data teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues
• Continuously improve processes around reliability, monitoring, and incident response

Requirements:

• Experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), DevOps, or similar roles, ideally in data or ML environments
• Strong background in data systems monitoring, performance, and reliability
• Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake or Databricks
• Proficiency in Python and SQL
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform
• Ability to design scalable solutions focused on data quality, uptime, and system performance
• Exposure to machine learning infrastructure or data pipelines supporting AI workloads
• Experience working in regulated environments such as insurance or financial services
