Sequencing is a company focused on personalized genetics based health guidance, and they are seeking a Senior AI Backend Engineer to enhance AI agent systems. The role involves designing and improving multi-agent AI systems, building and maintaining evaluation pipelines, and ensuring AI answers are scientifically accurate and user-friendly.
Responsibilities:
- Design and improve multi agent AI systems where planner orchestrator worker and evaluator agents work together on each request
- Build planner and router agents that decide which worker agent Genome Research Health or Drug should handle each task
- Create AI agents that can pick use and chain tools on their own including ReAct style agents that can write and run code in a safe loop
- Set up clear interfaces and parallel execution for worker agents so answers stay fast even as we add more data and tools
- Build critic and review layers that check responses for quality safety and scientific accuracy before sending them to the user
- Reduce wait times by running agents in parallel precaching likely intents and making tool calls and data access as efficient as possible
- Build and maintain evaluation pipelines and benchmarks so we can measure answer quality response speed and reliability over time
- Design and run production AI backend services in TypeScript that connect agents to genomics and health data
- Build prompt flows retrieval pipelines and guardrails so models stay grounded in real genetic and health evidence not guesses
- Integrate and run databases queues and data systems such as PostgreSQL MySQL AWS SQS Redis BullMQ and AWS Glue in the AI backend
- Support backend systems that power native mobile apps so experiences feel fast and stable on every device
- Work closely with bioinformatics teammates to be sure AI answers match what the DNA and science actually say
- Partner with product and design to make AI answers feel simple caring and easy to act on for non experts
- Help shape a self improving AI system that can learn from patterns across many users while keeping their data private and secure
