TMT IT Solutions is seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Infrastructure Migration Project Manager to drive their infrastructure transition initiatives. The role involves managing migration waves, ensuring technical dependencies are mapped, and coordinating post-migration support to resolve any technical glitches.
Responsibilities:
- Wave Planning & Execution: Organize and lead "migration waves," grouping applications and servers based on complexity and business priority
- Detailed Dependency Mapping: Work with systems engineers to document how applications talk to databases and third-party APIs to ensure nothing is left behind
- Runbook Management: Own the "Migration Playbook." You will be responsible for documenting the step-by-step technical tasks required for a successful weekend or overnight cutover
- Status Reporting & Documentation: Maintain clear, concise project dashboards. You will translate technical progress into status updates for leadership, highlighting any blockers immediately
- Risk & Issue Tracking: Proactively identify "Single Points of Failure." You will manage the RAID log (Risks, Actions, Issues, Dependencies) and ensure mitigation plans are in place
- Post-Migration Support: Coordinate the "Hypercare" phase immediately following a migration to ensure any technical glitches are resolved instantly by the support team
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Business Administration
- 3 to 4 years of experience as a Project Manager
- PMP or CAPM certification (or actively pursuing) is highly desirable
- Strong grasp of infrastructure components, including Virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), Networking basics (DNS, Firewalls, Load Balancers), and Storage
- Understanding of various migration methodologies, specifically 'Lift and Shift' (Rehosting) versus Replatforming
- Advanced proficiency in Jira and Confluence for task tracking and documentation
- Expertise in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets for managing large-scale 'Master Asset Lists' and data mapping
- Experience with Gantt charting software like MS Project, Smartsheet, or Monday.com
- Crisis Management: The ability to stay composed and lead a technical team through high-pressure 'Go/No-Go' decision points during cutover windows
- Communication: Skilled at translating complex technical jargon into clear business impact updates for non-technical stakeholders
- Organization: A meticulous eye for detail, particularly regarding dependency mapping and 'Runbook' documentation
- Experience conducting Discovery & Inventory audits to identify legacy hardware
- Knowledge of ITIL framework, particularly Change Management and Incident Management
- Ability to coordinate with third-party vendors and Managed Service Providers (MSPs)
- Foundational cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner or Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) are a significant advantage
