Data & Business Analyst

Peraton is a next-generation national security company that drives missions of consequence spanning the globe. They are seeking a versatile Data & Business Analyst / Data Engineer to support the modernization of enterprise business applications by bridging technical data engineering responsibilities with business analysis activities.

Responsibilities:

• Perform data profiling, discovery, and mapping across legacy systems
• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines and data models to support modernization
• Document data flows, lineage, and transformation rules
• Analyze business processes, gather requirements, and translate them into technical specifications
• Create user stories, process documentation, and acceptance criteria for Agile delivery
• Support data validation, reconciliation, and testing during migration
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define future-state data needs and workflows
• Produce dashboards, reports, and metrics to measure modernization progress

Requirements:

• 5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA; 0 years with PhD, 9 years with HS Diploma
• Strong SQL skills; experience with Python or similar languages
• Experience with ETL/ELT tools and cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Ability to document requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Must be a US Citizen
• Must have active Public Trust clearance
• Analytical and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working across both technical and business domains
• Collaborative, adaptable, and effective in fast-paced modernization environments
• Experience with application modernization or cross-system integration
• Familiarity with Agile/DevSecOps practices and workflow tools
• Knowledge of data governance, modeling, and analytics tools
