Software Engineer (MES Systems) - Remote

BAE Systems is an international defense, aerospace and security company that delivers a full range of products and services. The role involves supporting the development and sustainment of the Paperless MES/database, focusing on designing, developing, and supporting databases and web applications while collaborating with team members and end users.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and support our databases (PL/SQL, SQL, Oracle) and web site (JavaScript, Java, HTML, CSS)
• Be responsible for creating and executing verification test plans of completed team projects
• Work closely with team members and end users developing creative solutions to complex problems
• Design new tools to help our users do their jobs more efficiently and compliantly
• Design and implement automated data collection software tools
• Maintain detailed documentation of all changes and test plans

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field and 2+ years of experience
• Experience with Java, JavaScript, ExtJS, Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, HTML, C#, Unix/Linux, and Windows
• Working knowledge of the software development lifecycle and adherence to coding standards utilizing configuration management tools
• Comfortable working closely with the MES database users in cost take out and continuous improvement activities
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with 4+ years of relevant technical experience
• A basic understanding of manufacturing execution systems and how they are used
