Varo Bank is an entirely new kind of bank, designed for the way customers live their lives. They are seeking a Lead Product Manager to drive the vision, strategy, and execution of consumer lending products, managing the full product lifecycle and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative digital lending experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Own Product Strategy & Roadmap: Define and champion the strategy and roadmap for key consumer lending products (e.g., Personal Loans, Lines of Credit), aligning with company goals and risk appetite
- Drive Product Development: Lead the end-to-end product development process, from requirements gathering and prioritization to launch and post-launch optimization
- Leverage Insights: Conduct market research and customer analysis to identify opportunities and inform product improvements
- Ensure Performance & Compliance: Define KPIs, monitor product performance, and integrate robust risk management and regulatory compliance throughout the product lifecycle
- Collaborate Cross-functionally: Serve as the central point of contact for Engineering, Credit Risk, Compliance, Operations, and Marketing to ensure seamless product delivery
- Foster Innovation: Identify new features, design experiments (A/B testing), and leverage technology to enhance underwriting and customer experience
Requirements:
- 8-10+ years of product management experience, with at least 4 years in consumer lending or FinTech
- Proven success in launching and growing digital lending products
- Deep understanding of the consumer lending lifecycle, credit risk principles, and risk analytics
- Experience working with engineering and data teams in an agile environment
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience with cash flow underwriting
- Experience with alternative data
- Experience with modern loan management systems
- Experience with regulatory compliance (Reg Z, Reg E, UDAAP)
- Experience with A/B testing
