Super.com is a company dedicated to maximizing the lives of its customers and employees. They are seeking a Staff Product Designer to own the evolution of their design system, Atlas, across web and mobile, ensuring quality and accessibility while integrating AI capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Owning the strategy, roadmap, and evolution of Atlas across web and mobile, including tokens, components, patterns, and guidelines
- Setting and holding the quality bar for Atlas, including accessibility, brand fidelity, and craft, through reviews, audits, and a clear contribution process
- Architecting Atlas's tokens and components for AI consumption, not just human use, including how the system is structured, named, and linked back to Figma and code
- Partnering closely with engineering on the design-to-code pipeline, including tokens, component APIs, and the workflows that prevent drift over time
- Driving adoption through documentation, office hours, pairing, and a healthy contribution model that scales beyond any single owner
- Shaping AI-assisted design workflows on the team, evaluating new tools, and integrating the ones that meaningfully improve quality and throughput
- Mentoring designers across the org on systems thinking, accessibility, and AI fluency, and elevating the craft bar across Super.com
- Defining the metrics that show Atlas is healthy, including adoption, consistency, accessibility, and the time it saves product teams, and reporting on them regularly
Requirements:
- 7+ years of product design experience shipping consumer products across web and mobile, with at least 3 years building and scaling a design system
- A track record of taking a design system through a meaningful version change or 0-to-1 build, including governance, tokens, component architecture, and adoption
- Strong product design fundamentals and excellent visual and interaction craft, with the judgment to know when to systematize a pattern and when to leave it alone
- Working fluency with modern front-end concepts (tokens, components, states, responsive behavior) and the ability to collaborate closely with engineering on tradeoffs and APIs
- A point of view on token architecture and component API design, and how those decisions change when AI agents are reading the system, plus hands-on experience using AI tooling such as Figma MCP, Cursor, or Claude in real production work
- Experience setting accessibility standards and shipping accessible components informed by WCAG
- Experience mentoring senior and mid-level designers, and a track record of leveling up the team around you
- Strong written communication and cross-functional influence, with the ability to align designers, engineers, PMs, and leadership without relying on formal authority
- Proficiency in Figma, and fluency with documentation tools such as Storybook, ZeroHeight, Supernova, Notion, or equivalents
- Experience with Code Connect, Tokens Studio, or similar design-to-code tooling
- Experience contributing to or maintaining AI plugins, skills, or MCP integrations against a design system
- Strong visual design, motion, or iconography skills that bridge brand and product
- Prototyping skills in Figma or other tools, including using AI to turn static screens into interactive flows for stakeholder review
