Location: Seattle (downtown, onsite 4 days per week)
Experience: 10+ years
Level: Senior Engineer / Senior Engineer 2
Engagement: Strong preference for W2 employees. Contractors will be considered based on expertise.
Candidate preference: Strong preference for candidates local to Seattle.
We are looking for a seasoned Data Engineer with strong ML platform experience to join a high-impact team building real-time customer event infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform.
Required tech stack:
* Streaming: Kafka consumers, Flink job experience
* Google Cloud Platform Data Stack: BigQuery with strong SQL and query optimization
* Python Data Engineering: Polars or Pandas at scale, Parquet partitioning, large join performance
* ML Pipelines: KFP and Vertex AI pipeline components, Docker basics
* Event Store Design: customer-based partitioning, time-ordered event assembly across sources, schema design for mixed event types (clicks, purchases, returns)
