About this role
A contractor is needed to support the Tax System Modernization.
Provide direct technical support for the NCDOR mainframe-based legacy tax management system (ITAS).
-The selected candidate will participate in requirements, design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance support for the NCDOR mainframe-based legacy tax management system (ITAS)
- Will work closely with other support team members to determine the best approach to resolve issues as part of day-to-day support of legacy systems. Issue resolution will often require software changes and testing.
- Will work closely with others as a team member in design, development, and testing of legislative and operational changes to legacy systems.

Experience developing/maintaining mainframe-based tax management systems using COBOL, including Install/1 system management

Experience in Technical and Functional Requirements documentation

Extensive knowledge of techniques and methodologies relating to software quality assurance and testing through the full systems development lifecycle.

Databases: VSAM, DB2, IMS

Environment: TSO/ISPF, z/OS, MVS, IMS, Windows
Required
Experience with troubleshooting and debugging mainframe applications.
