Position: IBM iSeries RPG Lead Developer
Location: Fort Wayne, IN
Duration: 12 Months Position
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and enhance applications on the IBM i (AS/400) platform
- Serve as the technical lead for RPG development efforts
- Work independently on complex enhancements and production support
- Mentor junior developers
- Participate in application architecture, modernization efforts, and technical planning
- Support and improve long running, back-office systems
- Other duties as required
Qualifications
- Extensive hands-on IBM i experience (AS/400)
- Strong background in RPG / RPGLE (free form preferred)
- Strong CL/CLLE skills
- Solid knowledge of IBM i (AS/400) DB2 and SQL
- Experience maintaining and enhancing accounting/costing systems
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
- Long-term ownership mindset for legacy systems
- Experience integrating IBM i applications with other systems
- Familiarity with modern development practices (source control, documentation, coding standards)
- Regular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends as required
