Red Ventures is redefining the future of financial decision-making through its subsidiary, Bankrate. The Lead Product Manager for Enterprise API will own the end-to-end roadmap for product squads, guiding product development and ensuring alignment with the broader enterprise platform strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and mentor Senior Product Managers (and below), guiding their craft development and team maturity
- Own the strategy and roadmap coherence across API and Components squad, ensuring that individual initiatives align with the broader enterprise platform strategy
- Define the component architecture strategy — versioning, deprecation policy, and contribution model — ensuring the Component Library scales across multiple partner surfaces without fragmenting the design or engineering contract
- Establish operating rhythms and decision frameworks that enable teams to deliver consistently, prioritizing API versioning, stability, and high-quality developer documentation
- Ensure alignment with enterprise-grade audit logs and reporting standards
- Establish monitor and maintain adherence to API latency SLAs
- Partner with Engineering and Design leads on cross-team staffing and capability building to ensure the team has the resources and skills to succeed
- Ensure product quality, execution health, and partner alignment across your squads
- Consistently reduce ambiguity for your teams and stakeholders by framing tradeoffs explicitly and synthesizing complex inputs into clear direction
- Maintain a deep understanding of the domain and users to serve as a trusted source of judgment for your team
Requirements:
- Demonstrated ability to manage a strategic horizon of 12–24 months
- Proven ability to elevate PMs through coaching and clarity, raising their ability to scale across roadmap scope
- Shows judgment on organizational design, role clarity, and team formation
- Deep familiarity with developer platforms, API design, component library ecosystems — including token systems, versioning strategies, and the tradeoffs between flexibility and consistency in a multi-tenant or white-label context
- Experience governing the full lifecycle of an enterprise API: from endpoint design and versioning strategy, through release and changelog management, to deprecation workflows and migration support for downstream integration partners
- Experience governing the full lifecycle of a component library: from contribution intake and design review, through release and changelog management, to deprecation and migration support for downstream consumers
- Behave as a multiplier for the team, not just a strategist, by contributing to better defaults and clearer standards
- Experience mediating differences and resolving conflicts to maintain team health and alignment
