About this role
Position: Platform Engineer (Backstage)
Location: Remote
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and customize Backstage including plugins, catalog, and scaffolder
- Design and improve self-service developer tooling and workflows
- Build and manage cloud infrastructure in AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform
- Manage Kubernetes environments and containerized applications
- Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Crossplane
- Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab
- Manage artifact repositories using JFrog
- Apply SRE principles including monitoring, observability, SLOs, and reliability improvements using Datadog
- Automate workflows and troubleshoot complex distributed systems
- Contribute to API development and follow SDLC best practices
Required Skills:
- Experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or Software Engineer
- Hands-on experience with Backstage
- Strong coding skills in TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, React, and NodeJS
- Experience with AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform cloud platforms
- Strong Kubernetes and Docker experience
- Proficiency in Terraform and CI/CD pipeline development
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools
