GE Aerospace is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Network Engineer to join their team. The role focuses on network troubleshooting, WAN/LAN patching, and device hardening, while working with Cisco technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Respond to and resolve network-related incident tickets in a timely manner
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
- Serve in a rotating schedule of being on call to response after hours and/or weekends
- Plan, schedule, and execute network changes in accordance with established change management processes. This may include changes that need to be scheduled after business hours and/or weekends
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure minimal disruption during change activities
- Apply firmware and software updates to network devices to ensure security and compliance
- Monitor patching schedules and verify successful updates across all network gear
- Design, configure, and deploy network infrastructure to support business needs
- Perform site surveys and assessments to ensure optimal network performance and coverage
- Utilize network monitoring tools to proactively identify and address performance issues
- Recommend and implement improvements to enhance network efficiency and scalability
- Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, changes, and incidents
- Provide regular status updates and reports to management and stakeholders
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from accredited university or college and/or professional experience in Computer Science or 'STEM' Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with advanced experience
- Military experience is equivalent to professional experience
- Strong knowledge of network design and build principles
- Demonstrated experience working within a Cisco hardware environment
- Demonstrates knowledge on networking topics, such as routing, switching, wireless and telco related circuit installations at remote sites
- Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained for this role
