Sargent & Lundy Consulting (SLC) is a company that supports electric power projects by evaluating and optimizing various aspects for their clients. They are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to provide development support, perform technical evaluations, and assist in project economic analysis and risk assessments.
Responsibilities:
- Provide development support, conceptual design and owner’s engineer services to clients including performing technical evaluations of electric power generation projects and facilities
- Support project economic and cost analysis, risk assessments, and contract development
- Engineering design reviews
- Technical due diligence

Requirements:
- This position requires a BS in electrical engineering from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program with a strong academic background
- 7 or more years of experience in the electric power industry, including experience in detailed design of medium voltage electrical systems of thermal power projects, specifically utility-scale: Simple cycle gas turbines, Combined cycle projects, Coal fired generation, or Reciprocating engines (RICE)
- Experience in development support and conceptual design of thermal power projects
- Excellent technical communication and writing skills are required
- Experience in technical due diligence and owner's engineering design reviews of thermal power projects is a plus
- General understanding of power station operations and performance reviews is a plus
- General understanding of process design at electric power generation facilities is a plus
- Economic, cost analysis, and contract development experience is a plus
- A familiarity with international design codes and standards is preferred
- Overseeing engineers who program or script (e.g., Python, MATLAB, advanced Excel) to automate engineering tasks, with review of automated outputs, is valued but not required
- We also value additional learning, such as a minor, certificate, or other experience in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or related fields that enables effective oversight of automation and agentic AI-enabled engineering workflows
