About this role
SoTalent is seeking a Principal Machine Learning Engineer to help build next-generation agentic AI systems that power intelligent, multimodal assistants used by millions of people. This high-impact role focuses on building AI agents that can reason, interact, and operate in real-world environments at scale.
Responsibilities:
- Build and deploy large-scale, fault-tolerant agentic AI systems
- Design multimodal agent experiences including voice AI and deep research capabilities
- Develop AI evaluation frameworks, safety systems, and guardrails for production-grade agents
- Translate cutting-edge research in agentic AI into scalable product features
- Lead complex, cross-team technical initiatives from research → production
- Work closely with product, engineering, and research teams to define AI system architecture
- Communicate complex AI concepts clearly to technical and executive stakeholders
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in Machine Learning / AI engineering at scale
- Strong background in production ML systems and distributed architectures
- Experience with LLMs, agent systems, or multimodal AI (voice, vision, text)
- Ability to design evaluation frameworks and safety layers for AI systems
- Proven track record of leading large, cross-functional technical projects
- Strong systems thinking and ability to bridge research and production engineering
