
Title: Developer Tools Engineer
Location: Spring, TX (100% On-Site)
Job Type: Long-Term Contract
Position Summary
The Developer Tools Engineer will leverage software development and platform engineering techniques to enhance and support strategic developer platforms and develop data analytics solutions for these platforms. This role reports to the delivery team Product Owner and delivers strategic work for advancing the Client’s software development and DevOps capabilities and culture.
Core Responsibilities
Create and disseminate source code and artifact management best practices to the developer community.
Consult and mentor the developer community on source code, CI/CD, and artifact management practices.
Design and develop integrations and automations for strategic developer platforms, such as integrations between developer platforms and the Client’s Internal Developer Portal.
Leverage scripting and platform APIs to develop/design analytics and visualizations that provide strategic insights and decision points for organizational DevOps adoption and performance.
Partner with Cyber Security to enhance the Application Security posture for the organization.
Develop forms, templates, and re-usable components to speed up developer onboarding and platform adoption.
Evaluate current processes around platform management and provide recommendations and solutions on optimizing existing processes.
Provide expert-level platform support to the developer community.
Communicate, collaborate, and report across multiple departments.
Develop, maintain, distribute, and provide training on strategic platforms.
Stay updated on advancements in software development and platform engineering.
Mentor engineers/analysts within the immediate team.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree required in Computer Science or an IT-related discipline.
Experience: 5+ years of experience in a technical role.
Core Technical Expertise: Advanced level of software development, scripting, and/or CI/CD skills.
Databases & Analytics: Proficient working with relational databases and generating complex data visualizations (performing complex analytics and generating insightful dashboards).
DevOps Tools: Advanced skills with Enterprise implementations of source code management and CI/CD solutions (e.g., GitHub Enterprise, Azure DevOps, GitLab Enterprise).
Cloud Architecture: Hands-on experience working with Azure and AWS.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Experience working with tools such as Terraform, Bicep, ARM, or CloudFormation.
Artifact Management: Advanced skills working with package and artifact management solutions (e.g., jFrog, Sonatype Nexus).
Office Tools: Advanced proficiency in the MS Office suite.
