Ferguson is a leading provider of quality supplies across various industries, dedicated to simplifying complex projects for their customers. The Site Project Manager - Warehouse Automation will support on-site execution of material handling and automation system installations in Distribution Centers, ensuring safe and quality-focused project delivery while gaining exposure to construction and commissioning activities.
Responsibilities:
- Support daily on-site installation, integration, commissioning, and testing activities for automation and material handling systems
- Coordination of subcontractors, vendors, and owner-furnished equipment in accordance with drawings, specifications, safety standards, and schedules
- Support on-site communication with general contractors, trade partners, inspectors, and internal team members
- Coordinate with work sequencing, labor planning, and short-term look-ahead scheduling
- Verify installations align with manufacturer requirements, engineering standards, and approved submittals under supervision
- Help manage site logistics including material deliveries, staging areas, and installation readiness
- Track inspections, deficiencies, punch-list items, and support closeout activities
- Review and contribute to daily field reports related to progress, productivity, and quality
- Escalate site risks, safety concerns, and field issues to the Senior Site Manager or RE& F Sr. Project Manager
- Assist with RFIs, design clarifications, and constructability issue documentation
- Support schedule recovery efforts and milestone tracking
- Participate in lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements:
- Developing field leadership skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with trade partners
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to identify basic site risks and execution issues with guidance
- Strong sense of accountability and willingness to learn
- Diligent with a focus on quality and safety
- Organized and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- 3–5+ years of experience in material handling systems, industrial construction, automation, or related fields
- Experience supporting subcontractor crews on active construction or retrofit projects
- Basic knowledge of conveyors, sortation, racking, mezzanines, robotics interfaces, or controls systems
- Ability to read and interpret construction and equipment drawings
- Understanding construction means, methods, and site logistics
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Knowledge of job-site safety practices; OSHA 30 preferred
- Proficiency with basic field documentation and reporting tools
- Adaptable and eager to grow in high-accountability environments
- Ability to travel to project sites as required (up to 80%)
- Flexibility to work extended hours or occasional Saturdays to support key milestones
