The IT Project Manager will own end-to-end delivery for multiple technology projects, driving scope, schedule, budget, and cross-functional execution from initiation through closeout while collaborating closely with Product and Engineering teams.
Responsibilities:
- Own and manage the full project lifecycle for multiple concurrent projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closing, using established project management practices in a SAFe/Agile environment
- Define and manage project scope, goals, deliverables, and resource needs in collaboration with stakeholders, Product Owners, and Engineering leads
- Develop and maintain integrated project plans (e.g., using Smartsheet and Jira Plans), including schedules, budgets, RAID logs, communication plans, and change-control processes
- Lead integrated planning across product, engineering, UX, QA, release management, and external vendors to ensure readiness for delivery milestones
- Manage delivery risks, constraints, and dependencies; provide transparent milestone tracking, decision logs, and status reporting with clear escalation when needed
- Coordinate non-production issue triage sessions (e.g., WAR/MIM rooms) as needed across Dev, QA, and Staging to support release readiness and timelines
- Maintain accurate Planview updates for assigned projects, ensuring key milestones, dependencies, and project attributes remain current
- Ensure weekly time tracking is completed and reviewed for assigned teams; surface trends and variances to the Program Management Leader
- Facilitate clear communication and collaboration among project team members, stakeholders, and external vendors
- Serve as a liaison between Product Owners, Development Teams, and partner teams to maintain alignment on priorities, requirements, and delivery expectations
- Provide clear, concise communication on delivery status, risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans to project stakeholders and leadership
- Plan and facilitate project governance routines (e.g., checkpoint reviews, milestone reviews, and steerco readouts), ensuring decisions and actions are captured and driven to closure
- Identify, track, and drive mitigation for project risks and issues; escalate blockers and decision points to leadership as appropriate
- Manage cross-team dependencies and deliverables through integrated plans, clear ownership, and active follow-up against timelines
- Monitor project progress, performance, and financial metrics; prepare regular status updates, dashboards, and stakeholder communications
- Manage scope, schedule, and cost changes by assessing impacts, aligning on tradeoffs, and driving change requests through agreed governance
- Partner with compliance, security, and business stakeholders to ensure projects align with organizational standards, policies, and regulations (e.g., HIPAA)
- Coordinate required delivery evidence and project artifacts with teams to support audits and operational readiness
- Own end-to-end testing planning and readiness in partnership with QA and Product, coordinating UAT, regression, integration, and performance testing activities
- Ensure testing requirements (including NFRs) are defined, tracked, and aligned with acceptance criteria and agreed exit criteria
- Ensure timely creation, review, and approval of testing artifacts (e.g., test strategy, test plans) and communicate readiness status to stakeholders
- Coordinate integration testing and environment readiness, including external vendors and system dependencies
- Drive effective defect management, including prioritization, status reporting, closure, and root cause analysis in partnership with Engineering and QA
- Conduct post-project reviews and lessons-learned sessions to identify areas for continuous improvement
- Coach teams on consistent project practices (planning, reporting, risk management) and contribute to improving how work flows across teams
- Contribute to the development and refinement of project management (Agile PMO) best practices and tools within the organization
Requirements:
- Degree or equivalent and typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience
- 4+ years of project management experience, with demonstrated ownership of cross-functional technology projects; healthcare industry experience is a plus
- Proactively manages end-to-end JIRA process improvements, including access, configuration, and optimization of Jira, Confluence, and other required business tools
- Proficiency with project and work management tools (e.g., Jira, Jira Plans, Smartsheet, Planview) and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid)
- Experience with risk management, budget management, and resource allocation/time tracking
- Familiarity with change management principles
- Excellent leadership, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong stakeholder communication skills, including experience translating delivery status, risks, and tradeoffs for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Demonstrated experience managing scope, timelines, dependencies, and delivery commitments in a dynamic environment
- Working understanding of the software delivery lifecycle (SDLC) and the ability to partner effectively with engineering and product teams
- Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
- Project management certification (e.g., CAPM or PMP) is preferred
- Agile certifications (e.g., CSM, SAFe) are a plus
