Full Stack Agentic Engineer

Next Sketch LLC is seeking a contract engineer to support the development of an AI-native marketplace platform. The role involves working closely with the Lead Platform Architect to design and implement multi-agent orchestration architectures, production LLM integrations, and backend systems using Supabase and PostgreSQL.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement systems where multiple specialized agents coordinate, hand off work, persist state, and operate under explicit control flow
• Prompt design that survives version control and evaluation. Tool/function calling with structured outputs. Streaming responses. Cost-aware model selection. Retry, fallback, and timeout strategies that don't melt the system when an upstream API hiccups
• Schema design, Row-Level Security policies that enforce real product invariants, triggers, indexes, migrations, and performance tuning
• Implement the read/write paths, real-time subscriptions back to the frontend, and the audit/observability layer
• Implement approval gates, exception handling, override flows, and review surfaces
• Design the retrieval layer — embedding strategies, chunking, hybrid search, and the judgment to know when none of that is the right answer
