Software Engineering Consultant (Remote)

SoTalent is a specialist AI research and training organization seeking a Software Engineering Consultant to support the development of advanced Large Language Model agents. The role focuses on improving AI systems' reasoning and execution of complex workflows through technical feedback and evaluation.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and improve AI agent performance through structured technical feedback
• Build and support modular software systems used to test multi-step AI workflows
• Analyse complex system behaviour, including correctness, efficiency, and reliability of AI-generated outputs
• Work with live environments involving real-time multi-step interactions
• Contribute to improving orchestration, reasoning, and system design of AI agents

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in backend engineering, AI automation, or systems integration
• Strong experience building production-grade software systems
• Proficiency in at least two programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Go, Java)
• Experience with SQL databases and modular architecture design
• Strong ability to analyse complex technical systems and produce detailed feedback
• Experience building multi-step workflow or orchestration systems
• Familiarity with API integrations (e.g., Supabase, Gmail, or similar tools)
• Experience managing persistent state or session-based systems
• Awareness of AI safety and reliability issues such as prompt injection, data leakage, or permission escalation
