Northrop Grumman is a leader in technological advancements and is seeking a Sr. Principal Supplier Mission Assurance Engineer to join their Supplier Mission Assurance team. The role involves ensuring the quality of products from suppliers, managing supplier quality risk, and overseeing supplier evaluation and selection processes.
Responsibilities:
- This position will require on-site major supplier surveillance
- In this position, the employee will be responsible for the quality of the products provided by the supplier
- Responsible for Supplier Quality risk management develops and implements supplier quality evaluation and control systems
- Assures supplier process and product quality, including contractual, regulatory, and technical compliance
- Interfaces directly with supplier personnel and must be knowledgeable in and capable of assessing both supplier quality and manufacturing processes and procedures
- Conducts product and process verification activities, monitors supplier quality performance, and drives root cause corrective action analysis for supplier quality issues
- Manages supplier requests for waivers, deviations and discrepancy reporting process
- Keeps management apprised of supplier performance, quality status, and risks
- Coordinates and oversees Supplier Quality plan implementation through all program phases
- Actively engages in supplier evaluation, qualification and selection as part of the Business Acquisition Process (BAP) and as new procurements are required on existing programs
Requirements:
- Bachelors of Science degree and 8 or more years of relevant experience; OR a Master's degree and 6 or more years of relevant experience; or a PhD with 4 years experience
- Experience developing, planning, and/or implementing quality methods and strategies for procured items to assure the design, procurement, acceptance, and use of procured items
- Experience interfacing with suppliers, customers, work associates/teams, and/or management
- Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing/engineering experience
- Experience with AS9100/ISO9001 requirements
- Must be able to travel up to 25-50% of the time
- Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years
- Must be able to be successfully screened for Enhanced Security Clearances, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs
- Ability to apply problem solving/critical thinking skills to support and resolve issues at the supply base
- Demonstrated knowledge of AS9100/ISO9001 requirements and lead auditor experience to these standards
- Demonstrated written and verbal interpersonal and communication skills
- Extensive experience working with aerospace/defense industry suppliers onsite
- General experience with special processes
- Experience in root cause analysis and corrective action
- Six Sigma or Lean certifications
