Crate & Barrel is looking for a Quality Engineer to support quality engineering initiatives across various technology platforms. The role involves ensuring high-quality customer-facing applications through collaboration with Product, Engineering, and Business teams in Agile environments.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and execute test plans and test cases for software features based on defined acceptance criteria with limited oversight
- Develop and maintain test documentation, including test cases and test scripts
- Identify, document, and meticulously track software defects through their lifecycle
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure timely resolution of defects
- Participate in requirement analysis and design reviews to provide a quality perspective
- Contribute to the execution of various testing types (e.g., functional, regression, integration, performance)
- Actively participate in agile ceremonies (e.g., daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews) and contribute to team discussions focused on continuous quality improvement
- Assist in the development and execution of automated tests
- Provide clear and concise reports on testing progress and defect status
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in a quality engineering or software testing role
- Solid understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
- Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases
- Hands-on experience with both manual and automated testing (familiarity with different automation tools is a plus)
- Proficiency in using bug tracking and test management tools (e.g., JIRA, ADO, xRay)
- Good understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC) and agile methodologies
- Basic programming/scripting skills (e.g., Java, JavaScript, dotNet) for test automation
- Experience with automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- Experience working in agile development environments
- Experience in cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP)
