Integration Engineer

Hippocratic AI is the leading generative AI company in healthcare, focused on transforming patient outcomes with a safety-first AI platform. The Integration Engineer will bridge healthcare data systems with the clinical AI platform, working on data integrations, collaborating with teams, and optimizing performance across the platform.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain healthcare data integrations using Python, HL7 v2, FHIR, REST APIs, and SQL
• Collaborate with product and delivery teams to translate requirements into scalable, testable integration flows
• Coordinate with offshore teams on implementation, review, and QA
• Monitor and optimize performance across live integrations, identifying and resolving bottlenecks
• Contribute to reusable components and integration templates that improve delivery efficiency
• Troubleshoot production issues, lead root-cause analysis, and ensure smooth resolution
• This role requires a minimum of 20-40% travel, which may include overnight or out-of-state trips

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in healthcare integration or interoperability engineering
• Strong understanding of HL7 v2, FHIR, and X12 standards
• Hands-on experience with Python and at least one integration engine (Mirth, Rhapsody, InterSystems IRIS, or Redox)
• Comfortable working with RESTful APIs, JSON, and SQL
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams
• Strong ownership mindset with attention to reliability, scalability, and quality
• Familiarity with EHR APIs (Epic, Cerner, AthenaOne, or similar)
• Knowledge of FHIR bulk data workflows
• Experience with CI/CD, containerization (Docker), or cloud-based deployment pipelines
• Background in AI/ML data pipelines or healthcare analytics
