About the Role
We are seeking a Dimension Control Technician 3 to design, lay out, fabricate, and assemble a variety of standard and nonstandard jigs, fixtures, tool masters, gauges, and related tooling. This role involves working with compound angles and complex contours, requiring precise tolerances across multiple planes. The engineer will plan work sequences, develop tooling concepts, and collaborate with technical teams to support production and experimental requirements.

About the Role
We are seeking a Dimension Control Technician 3 to design, lay out, fabricate, and assemble a variety of standard and nonstandard jigs, fixtures, tool masters, gauges, and related tooling. This role involves working with compound angles and complex contours, requiring precise tolerances across multiple planes. The engineer will plan work sequences, develop tooling concepts, and collaborate with technical teams to support production and experimental requirements.
Responsibilities
- Design, fabricate, and assemble major jigs, fixtures, tool masters, gauges, and related tooling.
- Plan work methods and determine sequence of operations using tool design drawings or self-developed designs.
- Set up and operate optical instruments to verify alignment, fit, and adjustment of assemblies.
- Develop and design holding devices, jig details, and fixture components.
- Prepare operational sequences and shop drawings for fabrication and assembly tasks performed by others.
- Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process control or other procedures.
- Collaborate with supervisors and technical groups to refine tooling designs and ensure compliance with specifications.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in jig and fixture design, fabrication, and assembly.
- Proficiency with CAD software and technical drawing standards.
- Strong understanding of geometric tolerancing and precision alignment.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with optical instruments for alignment verification.
- Familiarity with statistical process control methods.
- Background in aerospace or advanced manufacturing environments.
