SB Energy is a leading company backed by SoftBank and Ares, focusing on providing reliable and affordable energy solutions. The Forward-Deployed Engineer, Data Centers will build secure integration layers for AI agents across enterprise systems, collaborating with business users and technical teams to improve operational workflows and develop reusable capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and operate MCP servers and enterprise tool integrations that expose SB Energy business systems as agent-ready capabilities for reading, writing, updating, routing, and retrieving business data
- Develop API integrations for Monday.com, NetSuite, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, finance, procurement, project management, ERP, document management, and internal systems, using secure REST, GraphQL, OAuth, service account, and internal API patterns
- Implement permission-aware automation that respects business ownership, role-based access control, approval requirements, audit logging, and compliance expectations across enterprise workflows
- Build agent workflows for status reporting, approvals, task creation, document retrieval, operational handoffs, data synchronization, and cross-system workflow automation so business users can stop manually copying data between systems
- Establish integration standards for tool reliability, versioning, discoverability, observability, error handling, and secure tool access so integrations become reusable enterprise capabilities rather than one-off scripts
- Partner with business stakeholders, Digital Platform, IT, Security, Operations, Finance, Procurement, and Project Management teams to identify workflow needs, map system ownership, and deploy reliable agent-connected workflows through modern DevOps and CI/CD practices
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related technical field required
- Equivalent practical experience building enterprise integrations, APIs, automation platforms, or agent-connected systems may be considered in place of formal degree requirements
- Strong software engineering background with practical experience designing APIs, backend services, integration layers, and production-grade automation workflows
- Experience integrating enterprise SaaS and business systems using REST APIs, GraphQL APIs, webhooks, OAuth, RBAC, service accounts, and secure credential-management practices
- Experience with Azure, Python, TypeScript, CI/CD, logging, monitoring, deployment workflows, and operational support for production integrations
- Practical understanding of LLM tools, function calling, MCP, agent workflows, tool orchestration, or similar agent-integration patterns
- Ability to design secure, permissioned, logged, observable, and reliable tool calls for enterprise systems used by ChatGPT and AI agents
- Able to work directly with business users, understand ambiguous workflows, and translate operational needs into clear, reusable, auditable system interfaces
