DotLab is transforming the diagnosis and management of endometriosis, a disease that affects 1 in 10 women worldwide. They are seeking a Software Engineer to join their data science team, responsible for implementing the clinical data pipeline and developing software solutions to improve testing efficiency and accuracy.
Responsibilities:
- You will be responsible for the end-to-end implementation of our clinical data pipeline, starting with data acquisition from our instruments, ending with generating reports for the patients, and all necessary transformations and integrations along the way
- This will involve data management and transformation, integration and execution of computational models, and secure deployment in the cloud, particularly leveraging Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Other projects include our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and other mission-critical software systems
- You will need a strong attention to detail and the ability to build, test, and deploy custom software solutions to improve our testing efficiency and accuracy
- You will build and operate the platform which empowers DotLab to deliver first-class clinical services
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or similar technical field
- Previous industry experience in a laboratory setting is ideal
- 2+ years experience designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software; Python, Java, or R is a plus
- Expertise with Amazon Web Services (AWS) for cloud deployment and management
- Experience with cloud platforms and relational databases, such as SQL Server
- Demonstrated problem-solving and time management skills
- Knowledge of software engineering best practices for the full development life cycle, including coding standards, code review, source control management, automated/continuous build and deployment processes, testing, and operations
- Deep hands-on technical expertise, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Interest in the underlying biology is a plus!
