Overview
TalentFish is casting a line for an Epic Willow Principal Trainer. This is a remote role supporting a healthcare organization's Epic Willow pharmacy implementation.
The Epic Willow Principal Trainer will serve as the primary instructional designer and training environment builder for the Epic Willow pharmacy application owning curriculum development, MST environment management, and the Credentialed Trainer program to ensure clinical and non-clinical users are prepared for go-lives, upgrades, and ongoing optimization.
What You Bring to the Role
- Multiple certifications required including:
- Epic Willow Inpatient Principal Trainer certification
- Epic Willow Ambulatory Principal Trainer certification
- Training Environment Build (TED) certification
- Experience with Willow Inventory and/or Specialty Pharmacy is preferred.
- Proficiency with Articulate (Storyline or Rise) for eLearning module development is preferred.
- Deep knowledge of pharmacy workflows across inpatient, ambulatory, and technician roles.
- Strong adult learning principles background with a track record of building effective, role-specific training programs.
- Experience leading a Credentialed Trainer program, including training, mentoring, and evaluating CTs.
What You'll Do
- Design and develop comprehensive training programs and learning pathways for pharmacy roles Inpatient, Ambulatory, and Technicians grounded in adult learning principles.
- Build and maintain structured instructional materials including lesson plans, training manuals, quick-start guides, tip sheets, and eLearning modules.
- Review and update curriculum on a regular cadence to ensure training content stays aligned with current system build and live clinical workflows.
- Build, configure, and maintain the Epic Master Training (MST) environment to accurately mirror the production environment.
- Refresh and test patient data within the training environment, creating simulated clinical and medication-dispensing scenarios.
- Troubleshoot complex training environment issues and rebuild training records following upgrades or code fixes.
- Lead and manage the Credentialed Trainer (CT) program, ensuring classroom instruction quality through ongoing coaching and evaluation.
- Coordinate training schedules and course logistics with training leadership and application project managers.
- Conduct training sessions for super-users, pharmacy managers, and provider groups as needed.
- Partner with Epic Willow Application Analysts to stay current on system design changes and identify opportunities to improve end-user competence.
- Analyze end-user performance data and support tickets to design targeted re courses and workflow optimizations.
- Participate in upgrade reviews, test new application enhancements, and develop implementation training plans.
Compensation and Employment
This role requires authorization to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship. The expected compensation for this position is $65 - $77 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
