Job Title: Ingres Database Administrator (Ingres DBA)
Location: CA
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Ingres DBA to manage and optimize Ingres database environments for mission-critical applications. The role involves installation, configuration, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and supporting production systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and upgrade Ingres DB Server.
- Monitor database health, performance, and optimize queries.
- Manage backups, restores, replication, and DR plans.
- Perform data migrations, patching, and version upgrades.
- Ensure database security, user access control, and data integrity.
- Troubleshoot production issues and support application teams.
- Maintain documentation and performance reports.
Required Skills
- Hands-on experience with Actian Ingres / OpenIngres.
- Strong SQL, performance tuning, and command-line tools.
- Good knowledge of UNIX/Linux and shell scripting.
- Experience in backup/recovery and HA environments.
- Migration experience (Ingres to PostgreSQL/Oracle) is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred
- ITIL environment exposure.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform).
- Prior enterprise client experience (CTS optional).
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or related field.
