GE Vernova is a leader in advanced nuclear projects, seeking a Project Quality Engineer to execute quality activities for these projects. The role involves ensuring compliance with regulatory and customer requirements, supporting project execution, and providing technical guidance to suppliers.
Responsibilities:
- Perform quality activities for Advanced Nuclear projects to ensure compliance with regulatory, customer, and GEH requirements
- Support project execution for procured products
- Work with suppliers to define quality requirements, inspection and verification processes, qualification activities, and test controls
- Provide technical guidance to suppliers to ensure compliance with drawings and specifications
- Resolve supplier quality issues and disposition nonconforming product
- Execute supplier quality surveillance activities for New Reactor programs
- Write and review quality documents, plans, and procedures
- Support corrective action and error prevention efforts
Requirements:
- Associate's degree from an accredited college/university, or High School Diploma/GED with 8+ years of nuclear industry experience
- 4+ years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, manufacturing engineering support, or nuclear quality assurance
- 2+ years of experience in a nuclear quality role
- Strong understanding of nuclear safety culture
- Experience with NDE processes, ASME Code requirements, welding issues, and quality inspections
- Familiarity with electrical/electronic standards, control systems, software-based protection systems, PLC/SCADA, and related testing methods
- Knowledge of ASME NQA-1, CSA N299, CSA N285, and ISO 9001
- Must be willing to travel to supplier and customer sites as required, up to 40%
- Preferred work location is GEH Headquarters in Wilmington, NC; highly qualified U.S.-based remote candidates will be considered
- Demonstrated self-starter possessing strong initiative and teamwork skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills; proven ability to develop team relationships
- Experience interacting with senior leadership at supplier and/or regulatory organizations
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once
- Demonstrated desire to be involved in a rapidly changing and challenging work environment
