About this role
STAFFXPERT LLC is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer on behalf of our client in Bethesda, MD. This remote contract opportunity requires a highly motivated professional with expertise in CI/CD automation, Kubernetes, and cloud-native application deployments, working closely with engineering teams to ensure efficient deployment processes.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Harness
- Deploy and manage containerized applications in AWS EKS/Kubernetes environments
- Automate operational and deployment tasks using Bash/Unix scripting
- Collaborate with development teams to support Node.js/JavaScript-based applications
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud-native applications and infrastructure
- Support event-driven architectures and streaming platforms such as Kafka
- Work with MongoDB and NoSQL databases in distributed application environments
- Ensure system reliability, performance, scalability, and security
- Partner with Enterprise DevOps and Infrastructure teams to implement best practices
- Participate in Agile development processes and technical planning activities
Requirements:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 4+ years of DevOps or Cloud Engineering experience
- Strong expertise with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker
- Experience working with AWS cloud services, specifically EKS
- Proficiency in Bash or Unix shell scripting
- Experience with Kafka or similar event-streaming technologies
- Familiarity with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases
- Proficiency with Git and version control systems
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Experience with ReactJS, NodeJS, GraphQL, or related JavaScript frameworks
- Familiarity with WebSockets and GraphQL subscriptions
- Experience supporting travel, hospitality, or lodging platforms
- Cloud certifications such as AWS, Azure, or Kubernetes
- Exposure to enterprise architecture or solution design
- Knowledge of Big Data technologies such as Spark or Scala
