Sage Dental is partnering with Electric Power Engineers (EPE) to design the grid of the future. As a Principal Electrical Engineer, you will lead the design and implementation of critical electrical systems for hyperscale data centers, ensuring compliance with industry standards and optimizing efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Engineer medium‑ and low‑voltage power distribution, UPS and generator backup, and emergency power systems for high‑density loads
- Produce and review one‑line diagrams, schematics, Bills of Materials, and installation drawings
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations, including National Electric Code (NEC) and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards
- Work closely with mechanical, civil, controls, and IT teams to define project requirements, design criteria, and budgets
- Provide technical leadership during design reviews, value‑engineering sessions, factory acceptance tests (FAT), and on‑site inspections
- Analyze electrical systems to identify and resolve issues, including load balancing, capacity planning, and power consumption optimization
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in data center technologies, and recommend new technologies to improve the reliability and efficiency of our data center infrastructure
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering plus 10+ years of progressive experience in data-center or other mission-critical electrical design; active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
- Deep knowledge of power-distribution architecture, UPS/generator systems, grounding/bonding, and protective-device coordination for ≥ 20 MW facilities
- Demonstrated success delivering data-center projects from concept through commissioning, including field construction support
- Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations, including NEC and IEC standards
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
