LMI is a digital solutions provider focused on enhancing government impact through innovative technology. They are seeking an Enterprise Data Engineer to design and operate data pipelines and analytics platforms in support of the United States Special Operations Command mission.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and operate the data backbone that powers analytics, dashboards, and AI/ML capabilities for a fast-moving technical organization in direct support of the warfighter
- Architect and implement ingestion, transformation, and storage pipelines across structured and unstructured sources
- Design data models (medallion/lakehouse, star/snowflake, or Data Vault as appropriate)
- Operate the platform with the rigor of a production system—observability, lineage, data quality, and cost
- Work hands-on in a modern Microsoft data stack (Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Azure SQL, ADLS Gen2)
- Partner with the Power Platform and BI teams so dashboards and apps consume curated, governed data—not point-to-point exports
- Implement data governance, security, and access controls aligned to DoD policy: row/column-level security, sensitivity labels, Purview catalog/lineage, and ATO-relevant artifacts
- Proactively solve unusual and/or complex problems with little, or no direction given and operate effectively in a fast-paced technical environment supporting senior military leadership
Requirements:
- Active Secret clearance required with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on data engineering experience in enterprise or DoD environments
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python (or Scala) for data transformation and pipeline development
- Demonstrated experience with Azure data services: Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, ADLS Gen2, and Azure SQL
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, or equivalent lakehouse platforms
- Experience designing dimensional and lakehouse data models for analytics and BI consumption
- Working knowledge of CI/CD for data (Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions), source control, and infrastructure-as-code
- Active DoD Top-Secret Clearance
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field
- Microsoft Certifications: DP-203, DP-600, DP-700, or Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Hands-on experience in Microsoft 365 GCC High and Azure Government
