The manager wants someone with wireless network troubleshooting and design being one of the areas of highest need for us, I would like folks with more experience in those areas. Folks that have experience using Ekahau devices is a major plus.
- 5+ years of Network Engineer (design)
- Network Design and Architecture: The Network Designer should have expertise in designing and architecting complex Local Area Network (LAN) environments in the manufacturing space, including knowledge of routing, VLAN s, subnetting, and voice/video protocols.
- LAN, Technologies: Proficiency in various LAN, technologies such as Wired and Wireless Campus Ethernet is required to design and implement a robust campus sized network infrastructure.
- Network Security: The Network Designer should understand network security protocols, firewalls, and virtual private networks (VPNs) to ensure the security of the LAN environment.
- Network Troubleshooting: The ability to provide level 3 Incident/Problem Management support to diagnose and resolve network issues quickly and efficiently is crucial. The Network Designer should be skilled in using network monitoring tools and troubleshooting techniques to identify and resolve network problems in a preventative, proactive and reactive method to meet service restoration and network availability objectives, using network analysis and monitoring tools.
- Shall work collaboratively with other stakeholders (Transport, Metropolitan Area Network (MAN)/Wide Area Network (WAN), Structured Cabling, Project Manager, etc.) in focused, agile-inspired sprint teams.
- Network Performance Optimization: The Network Designer should possess knowledge of network performance metrics and the ability to optimize network performance through load balancing, traffic shaping, and Quality of Service (QoS) techniques.
- Network Documentation: The Network Designer should have excellent documentation skills to create and maintain accurate network diagrams, configurations, and other technical documentation. This ensures that the network infrastructure is well-documented and easily understandable for future reference.
- Project management: The Network Designer should have the requisite skills to plan, execute, and deliver network design projects within the manufacturing space. This includes managing timelines, resources, and coordinating with other teams or stakeholders.
