TriCom Technical Services is seeking a Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst to play a crucial role within the Digital Experience team. The BI Analyst will deliver robust data models, dashboards, and automated analytics that stakeholders across the business use to drive strategic decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop robust data models from scratch using modern architecture. Establish clean relationships between complex datasets across multiple enterprise data sources (Data Warehouses, ERP, CRM, and CMS)
- Directly support the active migration of legacy, cube-based data models into a modern, centralized enterprise data environment
- Design, build, and optimize interactive Power BI dashboards and visualizations—including advanced geospatial mapping (e.g., ArcGIS maps)—to track key business KPIs
- Build and manage automated workflows and data pipelines. Leverage advanced data flows and script-driven transformation to eliminate manual reporting processes
- Programmatically reconcile and validate underlying data models against front-end dashboards using data-driven methodologies, ensuring total data integrity and accuracy
- Perform data optimization techniques, such as minimizing unique values in columns and streamlining complex queries, to maximize dashboard rendering speeds
- Gather business requirements directly from cross-functional teams, translate stakeholder pain points into efficient technical specifications, and present data insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
Requirements:
- Deep theoretical and practical understanding of relational database structures, including Star Schemas, Fact tables, and Dimension tables
- Mastery of Power BI development, specifically utilizing the DAX Query View to query data models, write complex formulas, and establish custom measures
- Advanced SQL querying skills for heavy data manipulation, validation, and database backend analysis
- Practical experience using Python for backend data transformation, notebook development, and workflow automation
- Hands-on experience working within cloud data environments (e.g., Microsoft Fabric or similar modern data platforms), including managing automated dataflows and data notebooks
- At least 5 years of progressive experience delivering enterprise-level business analytics, ETL pipelines, and BI dashboard solutions
- University degree or college diploma in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience
- An automation-first mindset with experience leveraging automated workflows, workflow automation tools, or Robotic Process Automation (RPA)
- Strong independent problem-solving skills with a commitment to understanding deep technical concepts over relying on AI-assisted or pre-prepared answers
- Experience working with major enterprise data sources such as Salesforce, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics
- Familiarity with customer-facing digital analytics, portal engagement tracking, or marketing analytics
- Prior experience working in a manufacturing, housing, or architectural industry space
