Strata Worldwide specializes in machine vision AI safety technologies aimed at enhancing operational safety in industrial settings. The Product Manager role focuses on supporting collision avoidance and proximity detection systems, requiring strong customer engagement and technical understanding to align solutions with customer needs.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for customers and distributors
- Lead high-level discussions on collision avoidance solutions and applications
- Conduct presentations, product overviews, and system demonstrations
- Drive Proof of Concept (POC) programs including scope, coordination, and follow-up
- Maintain consistent engagement and momentum with active opportunities
- Develop working knowledge of collision avoidance technologies including electromagnetic, AI vision, radar and LIDAR systems
- Explain differences, strengths, and limitations of each technology
- Align appropriate solutions to environments and applications
- Coordinate with engineering for detailed technical support when required
- Build structured proposals based on equipment and site requirements
- Define scope, configurations, and optional components
- Support pricing development with internal teams
- Ensure proposals align with customer needs and operational realities
- Work closely with engineering, operations, and commercial teams
- Coordinate internal resources to support customer requirements
- Provide feedback on product gaps, performance, and competitive insights
- Maintain awareness of industry trends and competitive solutions
- Support internal strategy with customer and market feedback
- Willingness to travel to customer sites for meetings, evaluations, and POC support
- Support implementation activities as needed
Requirements:
- 5–10+ years in industrial, heavy equipment, or related sectors
- Understanding of mobile equipment and operating environments
- Ability to explain and differentiate technology types and use cases
- Familiarity with basic system concepts such as integration, sensors, and communications
- Strong customer engagement and communication skills
- Experience building proposals and supporting sales processes
- Highly organized with consistent follow-up and opportunity management
- Strong ownership and accountability
- Effective communicator with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Disciplined follow-through and execution
- Practical thinker able to align solutions to real-world applications
- Willingness to travel to customer sites for meetings, evaluations, and POC support
- Support implementation activities as needed
- Experience in technical sales, applications, or customer-facing roles preferred
- Preferred location in or near Pittsburgh, PA, though other locations will be considered based on candidate experience
