Manages the design and development of mechanical systems for small modular reactor and nuclear fuel cycle facility projects
Leads and supervises a team of mechanical engineers designing systems, structures and components for major small modular reactor, fuel fabrication, and fuel recycling facilities
Manages staff performance
Receives general administrative direction
Executes independent decisions and resolves important questions concerning the design and development of the small modular reactor
Interfaces with senior technical managers, program managers, and all levels of management throughout the firm
Identifies staffing needs, deficiencies and opportunities for recruitment of required staff
Identifies, screens, recruits and orients qualified candidates to fill key vacancies
Communicates complex ideas, anticipates potential objections and persuades others, often at senior levels, to adopt a different point of view
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering discipline
Minimum of fifteen years post-baccalaureate experience
Minimum of five years of experience managing individuals or teams
Strong communication skills in a challenging, multi-tiered environment
Strong organizational skills
Ability to foster and achieve goal alignment among participants with differing interests
Knowledge of key design standards and licensing requirements for commercial nuclear facilities required
Professional Engineering (PE) License desired, with ability to be licensed in multiple jurisdictions
Senior design professional on Commercial nuclear reactor projects
Nuclear Steam Supply System (NSSS) Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) experience
