The Mechanical Engineering Manager is responsible for providing strategic leadership and technical governance for the Mechanical Engineering function, focusing on building and sustaining engineering capabilities while ensuring project execution with discipline and quality.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership, technical governance, and selective execution support for the Mechanical Engineering function
- Lead and develop a team of Mechanical Engineering Supervisors, Leads, and Project Engineers
- Establish clear standards, career pathways, and accountability
- Maintain hands-on involvement during critical project phases, including bid support, technical risk resolution, design reviews, and complex execution challenges
- Measure success in the role by engineering readiness, execution consistency, risk mitigation, team development, and alignment between business demand and engineering capacity
Requirements:
- Strategic leadership experience in Mechanical Engineering
- Technical governance experience in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience in building, scaling, and sustaining mechanical engineering capabilities
- Ability to plan and execute projects with discipline, quality, and realism
- Experience leading and developing a team of Mechanical Engineering Supervisors, Leads, and Project Engineers
- Establishing clear standards and career pathways for team members
- Hands-on involvement during critical project phases including bid support, technical risk resolution, design reviews, and complex execution challenges
- Ability to measure success in engineering readiness, execution consistency, risk mitigation, team development, and alignment between business demand and engineering capacity
