Controls Applications Engineer

Designed Conveyor Systems (DCS) is a company that specializes in custom material handling solutions. They are seeking a Controls Applications Engineer to support the design and delivery of material handling systems, working closely with internal teams and external suppliers to develop controls solutions that meet client needs.

Responsibilities:

• Develop field placement drawings based on system requirements and project specifications
• Estimate field wiring and controls components
• Review client RFPs to understand controls and electrical requirements
• Develop RFPs for subcontractors and help define clear scopes of work
• Partner with various internal teams to support solution development and pricing
• Evaluate supplier bids and provide recommendations to estimating and leadership teams
• Review supplier contract deliverables to confirm alignment with project scope and requirements
• Maintain and enhance controls pricing tools
• Stay current on new technologies and solutions that improve system design and performance
• Conduct site visits and supplier visits as needed to support project development and execution

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience working with controls systems in parcel and/or distribution and fulfillment material handling environments
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field
• Ability to solve complex problems and translate technical requirements into practical solutions
• Ability to balance multiple projects and priorities while staying organized and detail oriented
• Comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with cross functional teams
• Curious, motivated to keep learning, and interested in expanding technical expertise
• Clear communication skills and ability to work effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and stakeholders
• Willingness to travel up to 15% a year
