Nex is on a mission to help families rediscover the joy of movement through technology and play. As a Contract Project Manager, you will oversee the planning and execution of OS development, ensuring timely releases and high-quality deliverables by coordinating with both in-house teams and external partners.
Responsibilities:
- Drive alignment and execution across engineering, design, QA, and external partners to deliver platform milestones with clarity and urgency
- Lead the planning and tracking of our OS releases – including major quarterly releases and updates
- Facilitate sprint planning and backlog grooming; define milestones and set clear agendas for weekly leadership review meetings
- Maintain execution momentum by keeping deliverables on track, upholding sprint cadences, and ensuring team accountability to commitments
- Act as a communications hub by aggregating issues and feedback from Slack and our Facebook community, and ensuring all stakeholders stay aligned and informed
- Maintain project tools (Jira, Notion): keep sprint boards updated, ensure feature specs and processes are documented in Notion, and organize all tracking systems
- Promote team alignment and stakeholder visibility by providing regular status updates and helping structure effective collaboration across all groups
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in software project management in a fast-moving, high-accountability environment
- Demonstrated ability to deliver frequent, high-quality software releases on schedule
- Proven skill coordinating across remote teams and managing asynchronous workflows
- Highly organized and self-motivated; you set standards for planning and rigorously enforce accountability
- Hands-on, pragmatic mindset – you challenge assumptions and trim scope for simplicity
- Strong proficiency with project management tools (Jira, Notion, etc.) and excellent written/verbal communication skills
- Exceptional cross-functional leadership – no direct reports, but you drive teams by influence and ensure projects get done
- US-based (remote work OK) with flexibility for occasional travel to meet the team in person
- Familiarity with embedded operating systems is a plus
