They are seeking a Volunteer Senior Product Designer to lead the design of user-centered digital products and experiences, ensuring accessibility and engagement for their community.
Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end product design initiatives from concept to implementation
- Translate user needs and organizational goals into intuitive digital solutions
- Develop product design strategies aligned with the organization's mission
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define product requirements and priorities
- Conduct user research, interviews, surveys, and usability testing
- Create user personas, journey maps, workflows, and information architecture
- Identify user pain points and opportunities for improvement
- Validate design decisions through user feedback and analytics
- Design wireframes, prototypes, mockups, and high-fidelity user interfaces
- Create responsive designs for web and mobile platforms
- Develop and maintain design systems and style guides
- Ensure consistency across all digital touchpoints
- Partner with developers, project managers, marketing teams, and leadership
- Present design concepts and recommendations to stakeholders
- Mentor junior designers and volunteer contributors when applicable
- Support product planning and roadmap discussions
- Advocate for accessible and inclusive design practices
- Ensure compliance with accessibility standards and best practices
- Design experiences that reflect cultural awareness and community needs
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in Product Design, UX/UI Design, or related fields
- Strong portfolio demonstrating product design and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar design tools
- Experience creating wireframes, prototypes, and design systems
- Strong understanding of user-centered design methodologies
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Experience working with nonprofits, healthcare, wellness, or social impact organizations
- Knowledge of accessibility and inclusive design standards
- Experience in Agile product development environments
- Passion for mental health advocacy and community empowerment
