United Consulting Hub is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Automation Systems Engineer to support automation and control systems within pharmaceutical and life sciences manufacturing environments. This entry-level role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience with industrial automation technologies while ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of automation systems, including PLC, SCADA, and DCS platforms
- Support the configuration and programming of control systems, HMI interfaces, and automation applications
- Monitor automated manufacturing processes and troubleshoot operational issues
- Participate in qualification and validation activities, including IQ, OQ, and PQ, for automated equipment and systems
- Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and industry regulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including QA, QC, Production, Engineering, and IT
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to control systems, sensors, actuators, and instrumentation
- Maintain and update technical documentation, SOPs, system configurations, and validation records
- Support data integrity initiatives and compliance with 21 CFR Part 11 requirements
- Contribute to automation upgrades, process optimization, and continuous improvement projects
Requirements:
- Basic knowledge of industrial automation and control systems
- Exposure to PLC platforms such as Siemens or Allen-Bradley
- Understanding of SCADA systems such as Wonderware or Ignition
- Familiarity with GMP requirements and regulatory compliance in regulated industries
- Strong documentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
- Experience with Siemens TIA Portal, Allen-Bradley Studio 5000, Wonderware, or Ignition through internships, projects, or coursework
- Knowledge of Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and ISO 9001 standards
- Familiarity with sensors, actuators, instrumentation, and control panels
- Internship, academic project, or hands-on training in automation, controls, or manufacturing systems
