About this role
Hilton is a global leader in hospitality, creating consumer-facing technologies that revolutionize the industry. As a Lead DevOps Engineer, you will architect cloud platforms, implement automation solutions, and provide technical leadership to support hospitality technology projects.
Responsibilities:
- Architect next‑generation cloud platforms and automation solutions
- Devise and evolve code‑driven automation strategies that ensure environment consistency across development, testing, and production
- Build long‑term automation solutions using scripting and programming (Groovy, Shell, Python, Terraform, or Java/JavaScript)
- Provide technical leadership and implementation guidance for UI, APIs, and microservices
- Work with development teams to guide best practices, design patterns, and operational standards
- Understand new architectural concepts and recommend improvements from an infrastructure and security perspective
- Support reliability engineering efforts and participate in on‑call rotations for mission-critical & revenue‑impacting cloud services
- Design and implement enterprise DevOps architectures, reference patterns, and tooling strategies
- Implement and maintain CI/CD tools and pipelines across the organization (GitLab preferred)
- Enable seamless, secure, and available software builds and deployments across Agile teams
- Configure, tune, deploy, and operate Kubernetes clusters (EKS preferred)
- Maintain containerized applications with Docker or similar technologies
Requirements:
- Five (5) years of experience in Technology or a related field
- Four (4) years with CI tools such as GitLab (preferred), or Bamboo
- Four (4) years architecting and developing automation to support Continuous Delivery
- Three (3) years administering Kubernetes
- Three (3) years on AWS cloud platforms
- Proficiency in scripting/programming in Bash
- Experience supporting reliability efforts, on‑call rotations
- Travel up to 10%
- Bachelor's degree OR Associate's + 6 years tech experience OR HS/GED + 12 years tech experience
- Seven (7)+ years of technology experience
- Five (5) years of CI tool experience (GitLab or Bamboo), Cloud and Kubernetes platforms
- One (1) year of management experience
- Scripting experience in Python or Terraform
