Addepar is a global data and AI platform empowering investment professionals to turn complex financial information into actionable intelligence. They are seeking an experienced Staff Software Engineer for the Reference Data Team, responsible for integrating market and security master data from third-party data providers and architecting complex systems using a modern technology stack.
Responsibilities:
- Drive the technical direction for complex solutions in close alignment with your product counterparts, direct engineering peers in other regions and the wider engineering community
- Partner with multi-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy scalable data solutions that meet business requirements
- Build frameworks that supports highly performant ingestion and distribution of financial data and build AI-native products, moving from initial prototype to scalable production services with high velocity
- Evaluate and drive strategic business and technology decisions for the company and for customers
- Be a technical thought leader in multiple areas who educates and shares best practices. Your contributions deliver strategic and prescriptive guidance
- Working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment to deliver high-quality results and drive continuous improvement
Requirements:
- B.S., or M.S. in Computer Science or similar technical field of study (or equivalent practical experience)
- 7+ years of software engineering experience
- Prior experience with distributed systems, microservices and messaging queues
- Ability to own complex projects involving partners across multiple team
- Proven ability to collaborate with and mentor other engineers
- Working knowledge of at least one object oriented programming language (PySpark, Python, Java), relational databases, SQL, NoSQL, OLAP, and/or data lake architectures
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Knowledge of financial concepts (e.g., stocks, bonds, etc.) is helpful but not necessary
- Passion for the world of FinTech and solving previously intractable problems at the heart of investment management is a plus
